Aerobic Biological Treatment

Aerobic and Anaerobic Biomass

Gasion Biobox Biomass is defined as microbial flocs which have a smooth surface rather than a fluffy structure of conventional activated sludge, which are developed under control condition of reduced hydrodynamic shear and oxygen contours within a porous media with large surface area. These biomass subsequently settle significantly faster when released from the media by turbulence action during cleaning cycle and can be disposed of easily. Both Gasion Biobox andย Biohut aerobic and anaerobic biological treatment processes take place simultaneously in these granules depending on it location on the porous media. Bio Granules on the outer surface of media are aerobic and those inside the porous voids are anaerobic

Aerobic and AnAerobic Treatment of WasteWater

Gasion Biobox Benefits

Operating Principle

During operation the waste water enters the module and through a feed pipe is introduced to the bottom of the media. The feed water then rises through the bio media and get oxidized biologically, with attached microbes consuming the COD, Nitrogen and Phosphates from the water. The oxygen required for this is provided by an in built blower. It injects air and mixers with water in an airlift recirculated which sucks water from the top of the media. This highly oxygenated air water mixture is also fed into the feed pipe along with the feed water.ย

biological treatment of industrial waste

The volume of the recirculating water is about 50 to 100 times more than the feed flow rate. The design uses a special hydrophilic sponge cubes which has large void area which acts as a bacteria breeding space during treatment operation. They are housed inside a specially designed cages and unused as bio media in the modules. When the population of this bacteria is too much the feed is stopped and cleaning operation using bubble mixers is started. These bubble mixers generate mega bubbles which travel upward with high velocity creating turbulence and scrubbing action in media thereby releasing some bacterial flocs from the media. These flocs then settle to the bottom which are removed along with other silt by an airlift sludge decanter periodically. The biologically treated water from the bio filters then sent to a particulate filter module
